Fairie Bells: flowers on yupo
Faerie Bells
Transparent Watercolor
9" x 13"

For this painting, I dropped watercolor and metallic acrylics onto my support (Yupo, a slippery plastic "paper") and stretched polyester "spiderweb" over it, pressing it with several books until it dried. I then sketched flower shapes with a brush and removed some of the background color inside the flowers, modeling their shapes with added color and value.

Though they are flowers from my imagination, I thought they looked a bit like the wildflowers named Fairy Bells, hence the name.
