This painting started as a practice sheet. I was trying out script for an autumn leaf painting with poetry in the background. I added some colors and decided that this was turning into a painting in its own right. With the suggestion of a road and fences, the colorful maple trees glowed in the sunlight, just as I remember them from my childhood in the midwest.
