Paintings
The glowing throat of a day-lily, its lustrous petals, the strangely contorted spent blossoms—I was eager to start this painting. As a local McKinney artist, I was offered the opportunity to paint during Music in Motion at historic Chestnut Square. I began the first diaphanous washes of color on the porch of the oldest house in McKinney surrounded by incredible music and inspiring local artists. I like to think this painting is imbued with a little bit of that music, those artists and the lives of those brave pioneers.
