A trip to the Pacific Northwest - even the views out the airport windows are inspiring! I started this painting during a 3 hour layover at Sea-Tac, the Seattle-Tacoma airport. The Douglas Fir was added later as I gazed out my cousin's bedroom window at the magnificent tree. To get the lighter grey of the fir needles, I used semi-opaque watercolor pencils.
