I was fascinated by the way these huge exotic flowers open from tightly twisted and spiraled buds. The giant bells of this Datura relative carry a heavy, intoxicating fragrance. I could barely resist the call to paint them. I had to do it! Yupo, where the background flows and swirls almost as much as the flower buds do, was the chosen "paper". Challenging and freeing, painting with watercolor on this thrilling surface always yields exciting results!
