A five petaled, single rose: simplicity and beauty rolled into one. I have been drawn to sketch and paint these roses of fields and hedgerows for most of my life. Wild roses with their ruffs of stamens were one of the first flowers my beloved grand mother showed me how to paint, and a lifelong favorite of mine.
